Fitness Technician

This is a perfect Part -Time position for those interested in or studying exercise science, kinesiology, nutrition, or personal training.

At DexaFit, we offer a variety of testing services in order to provide our clients with better insights into their workouts, diets, and overall health. We have a DXA machine for TOTAL BODY COMPOSITION. Our RMR test measures metabolic speed along with ratio of sugar to fat burn, and VO2 Max tests for cardio strength.

Current Part-Time Position available for SATURDAYS (7:30AM-3PM) & OCCASIONAL SUNDAYS (7:30am-NOON). Schedule is flexible within listed hours dependent upon bookings. Our operation is by appointment only.

Ideal Candidate:

• Must be reliable & able to work independently once trained.
• Must be able to work with complex technology and have strong problem-solving skills.
• Must have a passion for health, wellness, and fitness.
• Must be Detail-Oriented
• Must be Thorough and People-Oriented: You will be dealing one-on-one with clients and explaining their test results in detail.
• Must maintain a clean and healthy work space, sanitizing testing equipment, performing proper equipment maintenance, keeping the location clean & tidy, etc.
• Must be able to troubleshoot technological challenges with equipment on your own.
• Must be comfortable with technology.
• Having knowledge and experience with operation of a DXA scanner and/or Metabolic System is a plus.
• Possessing fitness and nutritional knowledge/certification is Preferred.
• Must work productively under limited managerial supervision.
• Will assist clients with booking appointments and educating them on proper test preparation.
• Will sell services and encourage follow up services.
• Must be comfortable doing community education events about our services.
• Will create relationships in the community with health care providers, fitness professionals and institutions.
• Position may include other duties as assigned.
• Training period is typically 60 days from hire start date or until comfortable with position duties, equipment, and expectations.

Job Type: Part-time 

Expected Wage Range: $17-$20 per hour

Education:

• Minimum High School Degree

• Associates or Bachelors (Preferred)

• You will be required to take Continuing Education coursework annually.

Certifications:

• CPR with AED

Shift:

• Saturdays: 7:30am - 3pm
• Sundays (occasional): 7:30am - Noon
