March Shred Challenge - Win $500

Put your physiology to the test. Lose fat, keep muscle, and win $500. 

Concept: Fair. Objective. Data-Driven. Most weight loss challenges rely on a scale, which punishes you for gaining muscle. We use DEXA technology to measure what actually matters: Body Composition.

The Plan: We reward fat loss and penalize muscle loss to ensure you are getting healthier, not just smaller.

1. The Baseline: Get your initial DEXA scan in March.
2. The Grind: Follow a workout and nutrition plan for ~30 days.
3. The Final: Get your follow-up scan 1 month later.

The Scoring System (Fair for all Body Types):

• Main Score: (Fat Lbs Lost ÷ Starting Fat Lbs) × 100
• Penalty: (Muscle Lbs Lost ÷ Starting Muscle Lbs) × 200 (No penalty if you keep/gain muscle!)
• Final Score: Main Score – Penalty
• Example: You start with 50 lbs fat/150 lbs muscle. You lose 5 lbs fat but lose 3 lbs muscle. Score: 10 pts – 4 pts = 6.00 Final Score.

Eligibility & Entry

• Entry Period: March 1st – March 31st. All initial "Check-in" scans must occur in March.
• Follow-up Window: The final scan must occur 3-5 weeks after the initial scan (e.g. Scan Mar 7 -> Follow up Apr 1-14).
• Entry Fee: No additional entry fee. Participants must purchase their DEXA scans (initial and follow-up) standard rates apply. tip: get a DXA Package and save $50.

Controlled Conditions

To ensure data accuracy and fairness, all participants agree to adhere to the "DexaFit KC Standard":

1. Fast: 3-hour food-fast (Water is okay/encouraged).
2. Hydrate: Regular hydration the day before (avoid dehydration).
3. Rest: No training 24 hours prior to scan.
4. No Alcohol: No alcohol 24 hours prior to scan.
5. Bathroom: Use the restroom immediately before the scan.
6. Timing: All competition scans (before/after) must be booked at the same time of day.

Prize & Winner Selection

• Prize: $500 Cash Prize.
• Winner Selection: The participant with the highest calculated Final Score based on the formula above.
• Tie-Breaker: In the event of a tie, the participant with the highest absolute Fat Mass Loss wins.
• Disqualification: Participants found violating the "Controlled Conditions" will be disqualified to ensure fairness for all.

Competition Release & Acknowledgement

By participating in the DexaFit KC Shred Challenge, I acknowledge the following:

1. Medical Advice: I am participating in a voluntary fitness challenge. I have consulted with my physician regarding my fitness regimen and diet. I acknowledge that DexaFit does not provide medical advice or prescribe weight loss protocols.
2. Data Usage: I grant DexaFit KC permission to calculate my score based on my DEXA scan data. I agree to allow DexaFit KC to publish my First Name, Last Initial, and Final Score on the public leaderboard.
3. Privacy: I understand my specific body composition data (other than fat/muscle change) will remain private unless I provide separate explicit consent.
4. Fair Play: I agree to adhere to the controlled conditions for scanning (fasting, hydration, timing) to ensure a fair competition.
5. Liability: I release DexaFit KC, its employees, and affiliates from any liability regarding injuries, health issues, or lack of results resulting from my participation in this challenge.
